Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
The prayer
Saint Michael the Archangel,defend us in battle.Be our protection against the wickednessand snares of the devil.May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts,by the power of God,cast into hell Satan,and all the evil spirits,who prowl about the worldseeking the ruin of souls.Amen.
Added by Pope Leo XIII to the prayers after Low Mass in 1886.
When to pray it
Every day. Morning or night; many say it on the way out of the door.
In October, at the end of the Rosary, as Pope Francis asked in 2018.
September 20 to 28, as a novena before his feast, Michaelmas, on September 29.
A petition to God through St. Michael, not an exorcism: any Catholic may pray it (Catechism 1673). If you feel under spiritual attack, talk to a priest, and to a doctor.
