Evening Examination of Conscience

Lord, before I sleep, I want to walk through this day with You. Not with judgment, but with honesty. Not with guilt, but with grace.

"Let us search our ways, and seek, and return to the Lord." — Lamentations 3:40

WHERE DID I SEE YOU TODAY?

Lord, open my eyes to the moments where You were present — the unexpected kindness from a stranger, the problem that resolved itself, the moment of beauty I almost missed. You were there, Lord, woven into the ordinary fabric of my day. Thank You.

WHERE DID I COOPERATE WITH YOUR GRACE?

Was there a moment where I chose patience over frustration? Where I spoke truth instead of staying silent? Where I served someone even though it cost me something? Lord, let me recognize those moments as Your grace at work in me.

WHERE DID I RESIST YOUR GRACE?

Be gentle with me, Lord, but be honest. Was there a moment where I chose selfishness? Where I judged someone harshly? Where I gave in to a temptation I could have resisted? Where I neglected prayer, or charity, or my responsibilities?

I do not hide from this, Lord. I bring it into the light because hidden sin grows in darkness, but confessed sin loses its power.

I AM SORRY FOR:

Lord, I receive Your forgiveness. Not because I deserve it, but because Your Son paid for it in full. I choose not to carry guilt into my sleep tonight. Your Blood is sufficient.

Thank You for this day, Lord — the good and the difficult. I release it all into Your hands and I rest in Your mercy.
