Healing of Relationships

Lord, there is a relationship in my life that is broken. Someone I once was close to — a friend, a family member, a person who mattered — and now there is a wall between us.

"Bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do." — Colossians 3:13

Lord, I bring this broken relationship before You. Not to assign blame. Not to rehearse the offense. But to ask for healing.

HEAL WHAT I BROKE:

If I was the one who caused the rift — through carelessness, through pride, through harsh words or broken promises — Lord, show me. Give me the humility to acknowledge my part and the courage to apologize without conditions.

HEAL WHAT THEY BROKE:

And if they wounded me — Lord, I choose to extend grace. Not because the wound is not real, but because I have been forgiven of so much myself. Help me see them not as the person who hurt me, but as a human being who, like me, is broken and in need of Your mercy.

HEAL THE SILENCE:

The worst part, Lord, may be the silence. The unanswered texts. The avoided encounters. The elephant in every room. Lord, break the ice. Give someone the courage to reach out first. Let pride fall and love rise.

IF RECONCILIATION IS POSSIBLE:

Lord, restore this relationship. Not to what it was — maybe to something better, something more honest and more grace-filled. Give us both the desire to try.

IF RECONCILIATION IS NOT POSSIBLE:

Lord, give me peace. Some relationships cannot be restored in this life. Help me release this person with love and without bitterness. Help me accept what I cannot change while trusting You with what I cannot see.

Lord, You are the God of reconciliation. You reconciled humanity to Yourself through the Cross. If You can do that, You can surely bridge the gap between two people.
