Prayer for Grief

Lord, my heart is heavy with grief. The weight of this loss presses on me like a stone, and some days I can barely breathe. I come to You because I have nowhere else to go. You are the God who weeps with us. When Lazarus died, You wept — even though You knew You would raise him. You understand my tears, Lord. You do not judge my sorrow. I bring before You the one I have lost. I thank You for every moment we shared — every laugh, every conversation, every quiet moment of love. These memories are sacred to me, and I entrust them to Your keeping. Lord, I ask You: • Comfort me in ways that only You can • Carry me through the days when I cannot carry myself • Surround me with people who understand and do not rush my healing • Protect me from the lies of the enemy who wants to use this grief to destroy me • Give me hope that this separation is not forever "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." — Matthew 5:4 I believe in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. I believe that death is not the end but a doorway. I believe that Your love is stronger than the grave. Until we meet again, Lord, hold my loved one in Your arms. And hold me too. Amen.
