Prayer of the Precious Blood

Most Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, I adore You, I worship You, and I place all my trust in Your saving and protecting power.

"How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without defect to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" — Hebrews 9:14

Precious Blood of Jesus, shed at the pillar of scourging — cleanse me from every impurity and heal every wound on my body.

Precious Blood of Jesus, shed at the crowning of thorns — protect my mind from the thorns of anxiety, of obsessive thoughts, and of the lies the enemy plants in my thinking.

Precious Blood of Jesus, shed as You carried the Cross — give me strength to carry my own cross today with dignity, patience, and trust in Your purpose.

Precious Blood of Jesus, shed as nails pierced Your hands — sanctify the work of my hands. Let everything I do today be done for Your glory.

Precious Blood of Jesus, shed as nails pierced Your feet — guide my steps. Direct my path. Lead me away from danger and toward Your perfect will.

Precious Blood of Jesus, shed as the lance pierced Your side — pour out Your love and mercy upon me. From Your Sacred Heart flowed blood and water — the sacraments of the Church, the life of the world.

I PLEAD YOUR BLOOD OVER:

• My home — every room, every corner, every space

• My family — every member, present and absent

• My workplace — every colleague, every situation

• My parish — my priest, my community, my fellow believers

• My nation — its leaders, its people, its future

Eternal Father, I offer You the Precious Blood of Your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, for the remission of my sins, for the needs of Holy Church, and for the conversion of sinners. Amen.
