The Healing Presence of Christ

"As many as touched him were made whole." — Matthew 14:36 Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Let the noise of the day fade. IMAGINE A ROAD IN GALILEE: Dusty. Warm. Lined with olive trees. You are standing at the edge of a crowd — dozens, maybe hundreds of people, all pressing toward the same person. You have heard about Him. The teacher from Nazareth. The healer. The one they call the Son of God. You see Him now. He is not what you expected. There is no halo, no glowing aura. He looks ordinary — until you see His eyes. Those eyes have a depth that makes you feel seen in a way no one has ever seen you. Not judged. Not pitied. Seen. THE CROWD PRESSES IN: Everyone wants something from Him. Healing. Hope. A miracle. You are not sure you deserve to be here. You are not sure your problem is big enough. Others have it worse. Maybe you should not bother Him. But then He looks at you. Through the crowd, past all the pressing bodies, His eyes find yours. And in that gaze you hear an unspoken invitation: Come. YOU MOVE FORWARD: The crowd parts slightly — or maybe it does not matter, because His attention creates a space that belongs only to you and Him. You are standing before Jesus. He does not ask what is wrong. He already knows. He knows the diagnosis. He knows the pain you did not tell anyone about. He knows the fear you carry at 3 AM. He knows the wound from twenty years ago that never fully healed. HE REACHES OUT HIS HAND: Slowly. Gently. He places it on the exact place where the pain is — whether that is your body, your heart, or your mind. His hand is warm. There is no rush. No performance. Just presence. And you feel it — something shifting. Something releasing. Something healing. Not all at once, perhaps. But the beginning. The first crack in the wall. The first ray of light in the dark room. The first breath that does not hurt. "YOUR FAITH HAS HEALED YOU. GO IN PEACE." Carry this moment with you today. The hand of Christ has touched you. And all who touch Him are healed. Amen.
