Morning Prayer for My Family

Lord, before my family scatters into the day — to schools, to offices, to errands and obligations — I gather them before You in prayer. "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." — Joshua 24:15 FOR MY SPOUSE: Lord, bless the person I share my life with. Give them strength for today's demands. Protect their health. Guard their mind. Encourage their heart. And if they are carrying a burden they have not shared with me, carry it for them. Love them through me today — more patiently, more gently, more generously than I did yesterday. FOR MY CHILDREN: Lord, I send them out today into a world I cannot fully control. Schools, friendships, social media, cultural pressures — they face more than I sometimes realize. Go with them. Put Your angels around them. Give their teachers wisdom. Protect them from bullies, from predators, and from harmful influences. And Lord — keep their hearts soft toward You. FOR OUR HOME: Bless this house today while we are away. Let it remain a place of peace, of safety, and of Your presence. When we return tonight — tired, hungry, perhaps irritable — let this home be a sanctuary where we can lay down our armor and be ourselves. FOR OUR FAMILY AS A UNIT: Lord, the enemy attacks families because he knows their power. A united family is a threat to darkness. So I pray against every spirit of division, misunderstanding, and resentment. Bind us together with cords that cannot be broken. Let love be our common language. Lord, this family is Yours. We are imperfect. We argue. We forget to say "I love you" often enough. But we belong to You, and You hold us together. In Jesus' name. Amen.
